Do you admire the elegance displayed by Ballerinas? It’s time to get yourself to the Barre and add some Relevé into your routine! Here’s the top 5 barre poses you must know before going for the class!
“Sculpt a ballerina’s body”
Most Barre classes follow the same basic structure: use mainly bodyweight and sometimes light hand weights (usually 0.5 kg to 1 kg) or resistance bands to level up the arm exercises. A soft exercise ball is usually used to help engage leg muscles. Barre classes focus on “isometric movements” rather than larger, compound movements, which help to strengthen muscles without straining tendons or ligaments, so lower risk of injury as compared to more traditional strength training.
Below are some of the Barre poses that you will do in the class! There are poses for all level of practitioners, and whichever you do, it sure can help you sculpt the ballerina’s body!
“Enhance flexibility and improve balance”
1. First Position Relevé
2. Second Position Relevé 3. Parallel Plié 4.Glute Lift 5. Passé Relevé
